Dental Marketing Is Marketing But Mostly Without Innovation

This post is not to offend anyone in the dental marketing world as I know there are many good marketing consultants and service providers out there who are excellent when it comes to marketing dental, as I met a lot of you at the #dentalshowcase 2013 and talked to lots about Twitter marketing, Facebook and Linkedin. Coach Barrow even shook me by the hand and congratulated me on the success of the leaderboard I ran at the showcase. He understands how Guerilla Marketing strategy works and that it absolutely exploded my business and all the suppliers that were on board with twitter and the #dentalshowcase and #dfgame hashtags, raising money for Mouth Cancer Awareness at the same time.

Well Done Virgin Good Marketing

If you want to really grow your business you have to take note of what I am saying! This goes for dental suppliers as much as dentists, you need to create and innovate, doing this will catapult your business forwards. Business owners or managers that do this will see incremental gains in their revenues.

You need to break the rules, you need to do something new, like this for instance, it’s a dog drink from Virgin based at Birmingham station.

It has been tweeted and posted on facebook thousands of times by people who actually think out of the box, people who have dogs, it’s not important who shared it, but this is how social media works.

The question is when are you going to stop burying your heads in the sand and start getting the right advice? From the people who are not calling themselves gurus or experts! We dont mind if you want us to help and are even able to work with other dental marketing companies to roll out some amazing campaigns. 

The challenge is do you have the desire to explode your business? Or are you just happy with plodding on and getting the same results you have always had? Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different result.

From running our little twitter marketing campaign these were the stats, this campaign was by our standards a small campaign and was only run on Twitter. If combined with a very aggressive promotion at an event and utilising a marketing calendar, it will build up to a crescendo of activity close to the event and after, building momentum year on year!

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to work out what will happen to the businesses who adopt such tactics. This is why twitter is buying up lots of social media monitoring tools. Leaderboarded may be next but I think we have a good few years of running follower of the week and live event leaderboards before that happens. 

The beauty of leaderboarded is we can plug in any metric or connector we want. With scores from sales reps, tweets from the practice team or facebook posts, all competing just for fun, the stats speak for themselves.     Good info in your post Nat! Today's marketers have to be willing to get out of their comfort zones, to look outside the box, and get creative! They must find something that will set them apart from the rest and connect them to their market. It doesn't have to be perfect....just do it! You can tweak it as you go :-) [Reply]
